New Cultural Tourism Routes Launched to Showcase Local Heritage and Boost Local Job Opportunities

In an innovative move, Iran’s Tourism Development Organization, in cooperation with provincial cultural heritage offices and local communities, has launched a project to open new cultural tourism routes across several provinces. These routes aim to highlight local heritage, strengthen cultural identity, and create sustainable job opportunities for local people.

Focus on Local Heritage and Community Participation

The new cultural tourism routes include visits to historic villages, handicraft workshops, local festivals, and traditional ceremonies. According to officials, groups of trained local guides in each region introduce attractions and share cultural stories, offering tourists a unique and authentic experience.

One of the main goals of this project is to boost local economies through increased sales of handicrafts, traditional foods, and rural tourism services.

Strengthening Iran’s Cultural Tourism Brand

According to the Director General of Tourism Development, the creation of new cultural routes will help develop balanced tourism across Iran, improve the visibility of lesser-known regions, and attract both domestic and international tourists. This project also aims to preserve local values and prevent rural depopulation.

A Capacity for Sustainable Tourism Growth

Tourism experts believe that expanding such routes can create new opportunities for cultural tourism in Iran and encourage the growth of creative local businesses. The Tourism Development Organization has also announced plans to launch more cultural routes in other provinces over the next six months.
